It usually flowers and produces fruits during the first year. They have been fruiting a lot every year. The tree is not too tall when it is mature in the ground. Trim it more often to promote growth. Also called the Makrut Lime, the Thai Karffer Lime Tree is a must-have in any chef's collection. Kaffir limes are botanically classified as Citrus hystrix. Grows well in containers. Asians use Kaffir lime fruits for curry disk cooking. The skins of fruits are used to make Thai curry paste. It makes curry smell so good. If you love Thai food, this tree is a must for you. Thai Lime trees are easy to care for and have a wonderful, aromatic citrus fragrance—zest of fruit used in curries and for cleaning.

Grafted semi-dwarf Kaffir Lime tree is good for container. They can be planted in ground in zone 9-10. It should be the container plant for the other zones. Keep them out door from late May to October for the colder zones and put them in door when the temperature is less than 40 degrees.
